Jasons names Mayne as CEO after Joyce quits for politics

Jasons Travel Media, a travel listings company, named Matthew Mayne as chief executive after its former CEO quit to contest the elections as a National Party candidate.

Mayne was most recently general manager of The Betting Site, an online racing website in the UK He recently returned to New Zealand where he had previously worked as an executive at Telstra Saturn, the company said.

Jasons publishes 6 million copies of its travel listings guides a year and operates a website of the same name. Its shares trade on the NZAX market, where it has traded at 75 cents since August 12, when it dropped 2 cents from 77 cents. The stock has fallen 22% this year.

In June, the company reported net income in the 12 months ended March 31 rose 35% to NZ$982,000.
