AMP plans capital raising

Financial services company AMP Ltd said today it planned a capital raising via a share placement with details of the placement to be announced later on Thursday.

Earlier, AMP requested a trading halt in its shares in Australia and Nw Zealand, pending an announcement.

Shares in AMP last traded at A$8.73 in Australia and NZ$9.80 in New Zealand.
