DIRECTOR: WTL: Windflow announces the appointment of new director

The Chairman of Directors of Windflow Technology Barrie Leay today announced the appointment of Simon Young to the board of Windflow Technology Limited to replace Ian Fraser who has resigned from the board due to other commitments and for personal reasons to be in Wellington with his wife and family.

Mr Leay said that "Windflow Technology welcomes Simon Young as a Director to its Board. Simon has had a very successful career to date in the electricity industry as a founder/owner of his own energy trading company Opunake Hydro Ltd, Managing Director of Alliant Energy New Zealand Ltd, and as a Director of TrustPower Ltd. Simon was also co-founder and Managing Director of Empower Ltd, New Zealand's first independent electricity retailer."

He holds a Bachelors degree in business studies, a post-graduate diploma in horticultural science and Masters degrees in both science and economics.

Mr Young replaces Ian Fraser who has served on the Windflow Board since 2008. Ian's lifelong engineering experience has been invaluable as Windflow has successfully built its first major wind farm at Te Rere Hau in Palmerston North.
