GENERAL: WIN: AMP Investments' World Index Fund (WIN) - PIE status

AMP Investments' World Index Fund (WIN) - PIE status

AMP Investment Management (N.Z.) Limited, the manager of WIN, has identified that as the result of one of the Portfolio Investment Entity (PIE) investor size tests being breached, WIN's election to be a PIE from 1 January 2008 did not take effect. WIN is therefore not currently (and, as a result of the retrospective effect of the relevant provision of the Income Tax Act, has never been) a PIE.

The Manager is writing to WIN unit holders to inform them of the matter and the steps the Manager is taking. In broad terms, the Manager is in active discussions with the IRD in relation to this matter. In addition, the Manager will elect for WIN to become a PIE from 1 October 2010.

A copy of the letter being sent to unit holders is attached to this announcement.
