GENERAL: NZX: Updated NZX Equity Indices Methodology

3 August 2010 - NZX announces the publication today of an updated NZX Equity Indices Methodology, containing the rules and procedures for NZX Equity Indices including the headline NZX 50 Index.

An updated methodology document is published periodically to include changes to the methodology, which are usually announced via the NZX Index Memo service. This subscription service includes index levels, constituents and weightings through i-search.nzx.com and Index Memos by email.

The methodology document published today includes changes from the recently completed methodology. Also updated are timetables for Monthly Index Updates and Quarterly Index Reviews, to reflect changes advised September 2009 and February 2010. Changes are effective at the September Quarterly Index Review, except where noted in the methodology.

The methodology is available by request through email to data@nzx.com. It will be available to Index Memo subscribers on i-search, and will shortly be available free of charge, on an enquiry basis through the NZX website www.nzxgroup.com.
