Nuplex appoints group general manager, operations

Nuplex Industries, the international industrial resins and specialties group, announces the appointment of Mr Clive Deetlefs as group general manager, operations with effect from 1 March 2010.

Mr Deetlefs has substantial leadership experience in engineering, plant construction, process development, manufacturing, supply chain an management. He is currently global Six Sigma and lean manufacturing lead for Monsanto Company, based in Missouri, USA. During nine years with Monsanto, he has also held senior roles in Melbourne and Singapore.

Previously, Mr Deetlefs, who was educated in South Africa and is an Australian citizen, has held management positions with Unilever in the UK, Netherlands and South Africa, and with National Starch & Chemical in Melbourne and Bangkok.

Mr Deetlefs will be based in Sydney an will lead Nuplex's operations team and have functional responsibility for manufacturing efficiency, as well as direct responsibility for process control and plant design and construction, where the near term emphasis will be

Mr John Hirst, group managing director of Nuplex, said: 'Clive Deetlefs' experience will enable him to be a key driver of the next stage of Nuplex's international growth.

He will add considerable strength to the group's new operational structure which announced on 17 December.'
