TAKEOVERS PANEL TO CONVENE MEETING

On Tuesday 9 March 2010 the Takeovers Panel advised Horizon Energy Distribution Limited ("Horizon") that it is to call a meeting under Section 32 of the Takeovers Act 1993 to consider certain matters relating to Horizon's response to the partial takeover offer made by Marlborough Lines Limited in September of 2009.

The Company and its Directors are confident that they have complied fully with their obligations under the Takeovers Code and will co-operate fully with the Panel's inquiry.
